Michael Douglas Thought He’d “Blown It” When He First Met His Now-Wife Catherine Zeta-Jones — Find Out Why!

The story of when Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones first met is too funny!

“You know, I’m going to be the father of your children,” Michael told Catherine when they met at the Deauville Film Festival in France in August 1998. According to the Fatal Attraction star, Catherine replied, “I’ve heard a lot about you and I’ve seen a lot about you and I think it’s time that I said goodnight.”

Thankfully, the actress wasn’t too bothered by Michael’s odd pick up line and the two later married in November 2000. The couple are now parents to two children — son Dylan, 16, and daughter Carys, 13 — together.
