Whatever Happened to the Cast From Miami Vice? See What Don Johnson and His Costars Are Up to These Days!
From 1984 to 1990, the world was all about the detectives from the Metro-Dade Organized Crime Bureau in a show that everyone knows as Miami Vice. However, now that the NBC program has been off the air for almost 3 decades, what exactly has the original cast been up to?
Miami Vice was quite the groundbreaking show from the get-go, and even inspired countless other police dramas including classics like Law & Order and NYPD Blue. While only on for five seasons, those detectives with the heavily ’80s fashion had a big impact on pop culture moving forward — the video game Grand Theft Auto: Vice City was inspired by it quite a bit too. The original show was even adapted into a 2006 film starring Jamie Foxx and Colin Farrell.
“I fought, calculated and manipulated to get that part!” Don Johnson once told Closer Weekly of his happiness when he learned he’d be playing undercover detective Sonny Crockett. “[The auditions] were a long, arduous process, but one thing led to another, and eventually good common sense won out! I have been very lucky.” So incredible!
