She has crossed paths with many big and notable stars, but Anna Wintour has her eyes set on a couple of royal names: Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton!

“I would love to have the Duchess of Sussex and the Duchess of Cambridge together,” the 69-year-old told Jenna Bush Hager on Today. “That would be my dream couple. They could leave their husbands at home. It’s the two of them I want.” Well, it certainly seems like Prince Harry and Prince William would get to relax at the palace.

The editor-in-chief of Vogue has had a very positive reaction to the Suits alum’s fashion in the past — she once commented on her wedding dress. “I think she’s amazing and the royal wedding had the whole world watching and I think that her choice was brilliant,” she gushed on a video series titled “Go Ask Anna. “It was sophisticated. It was chic. It was grown-up. It was an English designer, albeit one that was working for a French house, which in a way was a message to the world: Yes, I’m from somewhere else, but I belong.”

Anna was also impressed by a certain decision by Meghan. “The fact that she chose to walk down the aisle by herself, I also thought spoke for an independent woman,” the artistic director for Condé Nast explained. “I think the picture of the Duchess of Sussex’s mother [Doria Ragland] at the chapel at the wedding was so inspiring to so many women, men all over the world.”

If the former actress, 37, and Kate, also 37, ever did show up to the most fashionable event of the season, they wouldn’t be the first royals to ever do so — believe it or not, Princess Diana once attended the Met Gala! Back in 1996, Diana made her first and only appearance at the show. The royal wore a navy slip dress with black lace trim from John Galliano‘s first Couture collection for Dior according to PopSugar. She matched her gown with a silk duster and mini Dior handbag.

It would be quite the sight if Meghan and Kate both showed up to the Met Gala like Anna dreams of. We wonder what they would wear!
