Sabrina the Teenage Witch star Melissa Joan Hart wants her kids to have the Christmas spirit for as long as possible. While recently speaking to Us Weekly, Melissa opened up about how her sons, Mason Wilkerson, 12, Braydon Wilkerson, 10, and Tucker Wilkerson, 6, have started to suspect that Santa Claus isn’t real.

It all started six years ago when her three boys couldn’t explain how their presents ended up on the porch. “I know Santa came one year and dropped off a bag of toys in our backyard, and at the time, [the kids] all seemed to be really excited about it,” Melissa shared. “And just recently, like, six years later, they’re like, ‘Remember the time you dropped the bag of toys on the back porch?’ And I’m like, ‘What are you talking about? That was Santa!’ I’m like, ‘Where did you get that from?’”

Melissa’s kids were so close to finding out that it was actually her and her husband, Mark Wilkerson, who get them presents every year. But now that they’re older, Melissa and Mark have to work harder to make their kids still believe that Santa is real.

“Six years later and they’re, like, admitting that they know — or they think they know — it was us,” Melissa explained. “They’re like, ‘Remember it was just there on the back porch and you put it there?’ I’m like, ‘No, it fell. It fell from an upstairs window.’”

The couple’s oldest son, Mason, is already starting to find flaws in the actress’ story and has been “asking a lot of questions.” But Melissa ensures that she and Mark are “still in the clear” about their Santa Claus ruse. Hopefully, Melissa won’t leave the gifts in the backyard this year!
