Awkward! According to a new report, First Lady Melania Trump is "far more relaxed" when she's not with her husband, President Donald Trump, and the couple's "rapport is not particularly warm" when they do spend time together.
"In private, a former White House official said, Mr. and Mrs. Trump give the impression that they like one another, but their rapport is not particularly warm. One person who has spent a considerable amount of time around her said Mrs. Trump was far more relaxed outside the presence of her husband than when he was around," a source told The New York Times in a story published on Friday, Aug. 17.
This latest report about Melania, 48, and Donald, 72, comes just days after Trump's former friend Omarosa Manigault claimed that the FLOTUS can't wait to split with her husband. "In my opinion, Melania is counting every minute until he is out of office and she can divorce him," she wrote in her new book, Unhinged: An Insider’s Account of the Trump White House.
"If Melania were to try to pull the ultimate humiliation and leave him while he’s in office, he would find a way to punish her," Omarosa added of the Trumps' 13-year marriage.
Previously, In Touch Weekly revealed that Melania remains committed to Donald for the sake of their 12-year-old son, Barron Trump. "For Barron’s sake, she’ll probably stay," a source revealed. "Melania doesn’t want Barron to have to deal with these vulgar reports."
However, the insider added that this doesn't mean Melania is necessarily happy in her marriage. "This is not the life she wants, plain and simple. She promised Donald she would stay married to him as long as he was president," the source shared.
