But will there be an open bar? Thomas Markle Jr., better known as Meghan Markle‘s half-brother, is trying his best to reunite his estranged family and, to do so, he recently invited the Duchess of Sussex and Prince Harry to his wedding.

The 52-year-old told the Daily Mail that he and his wife-to-be, Darlene Blount, sent an invite all the way to Meghan, 37, and Harry, 34, in hopes that the pair would make an appearance at his March nuptials. Thomas Jr. said he hopes the couple’s presence will help “put all the past behind everybody and move on and be a closer family again.” He added, “Starting out the New Year by bringing our family closer together is definitely on the to-do list — it’s very important.” Thomas Jr., who is the only son of Meghan’s dad, Thomas Markle, also believes his wedding “would be a perfect time for Meg to get together with my dad.”

Thomas Jr. is referring to the fact that his father has been trying everything in the book to get Meghan to respond to his recent public remarks about their relationship. From asking Meghan’s mom, Doria Ragland for help, to attempting to pull on her heartstrings by revealing old notes she wrote to him, Thomas won’t let up. He even commented on the alleged Meghan and Kate Middleton feud, tellingThe Sun, “If there is any animosity between Meghan and Kate they should put their differences aside. I’m very upset by the criticism Meghan is getting. I don’t think she deserves it and I don’t think she is doing one-third of the things she is being accused of doing.”

While Thomas was not able to attend his daughter’s royal wedding because of reported health issues, his son is hoping that Meghan and Harry can make it to his upcoming nuptials, which are supposed to be held in either Reno or Las Vegas, NV. And in case Meghan is wondering, Darlene also said it would be “kind of exciting” to have her at her wedding. Not sure that is going to sway them to come.
