Meghan Markle’s Friends Claim Her Dad Thomas Has ‘Never Texted, Never Called’

For the past nine months of her royal marriage, Meghan Markle has had to silently endure countless attacks and claims that her father, Thomas Markle, has publicly made against her and other members of the royal family. But now, a group of Meghan’s closest friends has opened up to set the record straight on the 37-year-old duchess’ life in the royal spotlight and her relationship with the Markles.

In the past, Thomas, 74, has claimed numerous times that he had no way to contact his daughter. But Meg’s pals just revealed to People that that’s all nonsense. “He’s never called; he’s never texted,” one of the royal’s longtime friends revealed. “It’s super painful, because Meg was always so dutiful. I think she will always feel genuinely devastated by what he’s done. And at the same time, because she’s a daughter, she has a lot of sympathy for him.”

The friends also said that the former Suits actress was sick to her stomach in the days leading up to her lavish royal wedding to Prince Harry in May 2018 after Thomas apparently suffered a heart attack and could no longer walk her down the aisle inside Windsor Castle’s St George’s Chapel.

“The next morning when the car got there [to take him to the airport], he wouldn’t get in,” one friend shared. “[Later] Meg heard he had a heart attack and she’s calling and texting, even up to the night before the wedding. It was like, ‘Please pick up. I love you, and I’m scared.’ It was endless.”

Despite missing out on one of the biggest days of her life, Meg allegedly still tried to salvage their relationship. “After the wedding, she wrote him a letter. She’s like, ‘Dad, I’m so heartbroken. I love you. I have one father. Please stop victimizing me through the media so we can repair our relationship.’ Because every time her team has to come to her and fact-check something [he has said], it’s an arrow to the heart,” Megha’s pal revealed.

The friend added, “He writes her a really long letter in return, and he closes it by requesting a photo op with her. And she feels like, ‘That’s the opposite of what I’m saying. I’m telling you I don’t want to communicate through the media, and you’re asking me to communicate through the media. Did you hear anything I said?’ It’s almost like they’re ships passing.”

Sadly, Thomas hasn’t been the only Markle family member to cause a mess for the mom-to-be. Meghan’s half-sister, Samantha Markle, has often spoken critically of the brunette beauty and even recently announced that she’s writing tell-all books about Meg titled In the Shadows of the Duchess I and II.

But, according to Meg’s friends, Samantha’s books won’t have as much as dirt as she’s claiming. “They’ve been made to appear as siblings who were very close and then they had this falling out, and that’s not the truth at all,” one confidante said. “Fast way forward to Meghan dating Harry, and now Samantha is going by the last name Markle [after long using the name Grant]. And then she began this career capitalizing on Meg. Everyone who knows Meg knows that the two of them have no relationship.”

Poor Meg! Here’s hoping that Thomas and Samantha settle down and give the duchess some well-deserved peace and quiet once she brings her little bundle of joy into the world this spring.
