She’s taking a little break! In the midst of her family drama, Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle has reportedly left London for Toronto for a solo trip without her husband, Prince Harry.

On Sunday, Aug. 19, The Mirror — citing royal news hub Royal Central — reported that Meghan, 37, recently boarded an Air Canada flight to Toronto and, prior to her travels, Kensington Palace sent the airline a letter with her itinerary and strict instructions “requesting that no one takes Meghan’s picture or approaches her on the flight.”

Meghan’s jaunt to Canada is her very first solo trip abroad since she married Harry, 33, in mid-May and thus officially became a member of the British royal family. Though it is unknown why exactly the Duchess traveled to Toronto, it is thought that Meghan is simply taking some time away from her royal duties and possibly visiting her close friend Jessica Mulroney and her family.

Meghan previously lived in Toronto for seven years while filming her hit legal drama Suits. During that time, she met Jessica, a fashion stylist who is married to Canadian television personality Ben Mulroney. Today, Meg and Jessica are such close friends that the stylist’s three children — twin sons Brian and John and daughter Isabel — served as page boys and a flower girl in Meghan and Harry’s royal wedding

Meghan’s trip to Canada may also be to escape her family drama, as her father, Thomas Markle, again spoke out about the Duchess and her very famous husband this past weekend. In his latest interview, Thomas likened the royal family to a “cult” and slammed the palace for seemingly cutting off all communication between himself and Meghan.
