Casual! Yes, Meghan Markle used to be an actress on Suits, but she didn’t have security to protect her from her Hollywood fame. In fact, she had British secret service with her on set because at the time she would soon be the Duchess of Sussex!

In a new interview, her former co-star Wendell Pierce opened up about working with Meghan during that exciting time in her life. “She is really wonderful. I actually didn’t think it was real, then all of a sudden I turn round and there is a guy from MI5 on set every day,” the 54-year-old actor told Extra on Tuesday, Sept. 4 of the British security.

Wendell continued, “The one thing that was clear [was that] she was extremely happy. She had a glow. I knew she was in love. With the whirlwind of publicity and the world of being a royal now, the one thing that’s constant is the fact that I know she loves him.”

In a previous interview, another one of Meghan’s co-stars Gabriel Macht revealed the royal family’s staff are actually big fans of the USA show (we wonder if Meg’s security enjoyed watching her film her scenes?!). “This fellow came up to me and he said, ‘Gabriel, I’m the Queen’s page. I love Harvey, and I love Suits. I just wanted to let you know,'” he told Harper’s Bazaar after the royal wedding. “That was just classic!”

Meghan previously said goodbye to the series shortly before she married Prince Harry on May 19 after seven seasons. “What’s been really exciting, as we talk about this as the transition out of my career… is that the causes that have been very important to me, I can focus even more energy on,” Meghan said when she and her royal husband previously sat down for their first interview with the BBC when they got engaged. “You realize that as you have access, or a voice that people are willing to listen to, [it comes with] a lot of responsibility, which I take seriously.”

She added at the time, “Keep in mind I’ve been working on my show for seven years, so we’re very, very fortunate to have that kind of longevity on a series, and once we hit the 100th episode mark [in August], I felt, ‘I’ve ticked this box,'” she added. “And I feel really proud of the work we’ve done there, and now it’s time to work as a team with [Harry].”
