Now that she's married to Prince Harry, Meghan Markle is more than ready to step into her new role as the Duchess of Sussex. According to a palace source, the 36-year-old is "very excited about" her life with the royal family and is looking foward to jumping into her work.
"You could argue that this job is her baby right now. It’s a job she wants to consider every element of and decision for very carefully," the insider told Us Weekly. Thankfully, the source said Harry, 33, has "been instrumental in guiding her" and other members of the monarchy including — Queen Elizabeth, Prince Charles, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, Prince William, and Kate Middleton — have also been supportive.
Late last month, Meghan's longtime friend similarly revealed that the former actress is "really stoked" about her royal position and is "trying to make change happen" through her public platform. "There is a lot of work ahead of her, and it takes a really strong person to fill those shoes. This is now a huge platform for Meghan to really get into the activism that she wants to do. She’s really stoked about taking on the role and trying to make change happen," Meghan's pal and makeup artist Daniel Martin told People.
Another royal insider told People that Meghan is eager to focus on issues relating to "young women and teenage girls" in her new role. "She’s not going to want to be a quiet princess and simply open hospitals or cut ribbons," the source said. "She is familiarizing herself with the landscape in [the UK]. She’s meeting groups and wants to do that privately so she can get to know people."
In addition to beginning her important work as a member of the British monarchy, Meghan and her new husband, Harry are also ready to take on another big project: parenthood! "Meghan and Harry are already trying for a baby. They'd love to have at least two," a palace insider exclusively told Closer Weekly.

Luckily, Harry and Meghan already have royal role models in the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge to show them how to raise children in the public eye. "Like Kate and William, Meghan and Harry don't plan to send their kids away to boarding school. Meghan is determined to give her children as much of a 'normal' upbringing as possible," the insider explained.
"Harry's already had plenty of practice [with kids], changing Prince Louis' diapers," the source added. "[Meghan is eager to] teach her children not to take anything for granted, and to believe that anything is possible if you put your mind to it."

Now that their royal wedding his behind them, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are simply ready to start their new life together. "Meghan describes the wedding as 'the best day of [her] life,' but she's glad that the stress of it is over and she is happily settling into her new life with Harry," the palace insider gushed. We can't wait to see what's next for Harry and Meghan!
