The world may refer to Prince Harry as the Duke of Sussex, but his wife, Duchess Meghan (née Markle), is lucky enough to call him her own special nickname. During the U.K. airing of ITV’s new documentary Harry & Meghan: An African Journey on Sunday, October 20, royal fans noticed the former actress referred to her husband by a super sweet moniker.

While chatting with ITV News at Ten anchor Tom Bradby about her struggles with the press, the 38-year-old beauty said, “I have said for a long time to H, that’s what I call him, ‘It’s not enough to just survive something. That’s not the point of life. You have got to thrive. You have got to feel happy.'” We love how “H” is so simple, yet still so sweet!

Meghan — who candidly opened up about her life as a new royal and new mom to Baby Archie — explained that she attempted to condition herself from feeling unhappiness toward the public shaming. “I really tried to adopt this British sensibility of a ‘stiff upper lip,’” she added. “I really tried, but I think that what that does internally is probably really damaging.”

The former Suits star opened up about adjusting to life in the public eye in the upcoming documentary, which gives fans an inside look on their recent royal tour of Africa. Despite touching on the difficulties of being a “new mom and trying to be a newlywed,” Meghan also revealed her friends tried to warn her about Harry, 35, in general.

“In all fairness, I had no idea, which probably sounds difficult to understand and hear,” Meghan explained. “But when I first met my now-husband, my friends were really happy because I was so happy but my British friends said to me, ‘I’m sure he’s great but you shouldn’t do it because the British tabloids will destroy your life.'”

Looking back, Meghan revealed she never could have guessed what was in store for her. “I very naively — I’m American. We don’t have that there — [I said,] ‘What are you talking about? That doesn’t make any sense. I’m not in any tabloids,'” she continued. “I didn’t get it. So it’s been, yeah, it’s been complicated.”

Even though it’s been a difficult year for the brunette beauty, Meg couldn’t feel luckier to have Harry and Archie by her side. “I think the grass is always greener,” she said. “You have no idea. It’s really hard to understand what it’s like. I know what it seems like it should be. It’s a very different thing. That’s OK. The good thing is I’ve got my baby and I’ve got my husband and they’re the best.”

Harry & Meghan: An African Journey will air in the U.S. on ABC on Wednesday, October 23, at 10 p.m. ET.
