Awkward! Queen Elizabeth and Meghan Markle have a great relationship, but if there’s one thing they are disagreeing on it’s Meg’s fashion choices. So it turns out, the British monarch allegedly isn’t a fan of the Duchess of Sussex’s pantsuits. The 92-year-old — who you’ll never see in slacks — prefers women of the royal family to be in dresses or skirts.

Meghan wore a black pantsuit during an outing with Prince Harry on Tuesday, Sept. 4 apparently because she “has found certain rules in the royal household difficult to understand, like the fact that the Queen prefers women in dresses or skirts rather than trouser suits, and is often asking Harry why things have to be done in a certain way,” a source once told People

The insider added, “I think she finds it a little frustrating at times, but this is her new life, and she has to deal with it.”

Luckily for Meghan, though, the Queen is being super supportive of the former actress’ transition into this new life. “The Queen is very aware of how difficult this transition would be for anyone coming into the family and experiencing so much change in their lives,” an insider told Us Weekly. “That’s why it’s so important to her to make sure that Meghan feels welcomed and cared for.”

The source added, “The Queen made it clear to Meghan that she should never feel that she can’t ask about something or get advice, be it from her or from one of her close courtiers or aides. She has really taken Meghan under her wing.”

Perhaps Prince Harry’s grandmother feels this way because she and Meghan get along so nicely. “Whenever they’re together, they always have a giggle, and Her Majesty seems to really enjoy hearing Meghan’s thoughts on the world,” the insider shared. “While Meghan and the Queen come from two very different backgrounds and generations, there’s a warmth between the two that’s genuine and loving.”
