Since Kensington Palace announced the exciting news on Monday, Oct. 15 that Meghan Markle is pregnant, the 37-year-old Duchess has been all smiles while on her overseas tour of Australia with hubby Prince Harry. During the trip, Meghan spoke to Australian TV personality Eddie Woo at a special event and during their chat, Meg adorably gushed she and Harry, 34, can’t wait to become parents.

“We’re ready! We’re excited to join the club,” Meghan reportedly said after Woo stated that his own children — aged five, seven, and 10 — require “a lot of energy.”

It comes as no shock to us that Harry is excited to become a dad, mainly because he has talked about wanting children on countless occasions in the past. “I’ve longed for kids since I was very, very young,” Harry told ABC News in May 2012. “I’m waiting to find the right person, someone who is willing to take on the job.”

Although Harry has always yearned to be a father, he knew it wasn’t going to happen unless he had the perfect woman for him by his side. “Of course, I would love to have kids right now,” Harry said in an interview with Sky News in May 2015, just a little more than a year before he met Meghan. “But there is a process that one has to go through. It would be great to have someone else next to me, but the time will come. Whatever happens, happens.”

“I also dream to have a family,” Meghan said during a September 2016 interview with Lifestyle magazine. “It’s all about balance and I have so much happiness in my career and am fortunate to travel the world and see so many amazing things. It will also be nice to be anchored to something grounded and in the same place. Raising a family will be a wonderful part of that.”

Today, we can’t imagine how excited both Meghan and Harry are to be expecting a child. “[Meghan is] excited, happy, and over the moon [about her pregnancy],” Us Weekly reported following the couple’s pregnancy news. The magazine also alleged that Harry is “elated and beside himself” about becoming a dad. “She’s in great health and has had a very easy pregnancy so far. Meghan has totally been herself and so far, so good,” the insider added.

Meghan and Harry are currently overseas for their royal tour that began in Sydney and will take them around Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, and Tonga. The 16-day tour will include a total of 76 engagements, including attending the official opening ceremony of Harry’s flagship sporting tournament, The Invictus Games.
