Don’t get it twisted! Although Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have officially made Frogmore Cottage their home after baby Archie’s birth, they don’t plan on giving their neighbors at Windsor any strict guidelines on how to respect their privacy — despite recent reports suggesting the exact opposite.

“The duke and duchess didn’t request this, didn’t know about it, and had nothing to do with the content or guidance offered,” a Buckingham Palace spokesperson told Us Weekly about the royal couple reportedly dishing out demands.

According to The Sun, the demands Harry, 34, and Meghan, 37, allegedly wanted their neighbors to follow involved everything from a proper greeting to how you could approach them if you see them in public.

“Don’t approach or instigate conversation if you see the Royal couple. Do say ‘Good Morning’ or some other pleasantry if they speak to you,” the supposed guidelines read. “Don’t pet or stroke their dogs, even if they come over to you. Don’t offer to walk their dogs. Don’t ask to see baby Archie or offer to babysit. Don’t post anything through the letterbox of Frogmore Cottage.”

After hearing the reported rules and regulations, a few locals in the community reportedly voiced their concerns to The Sun. One apparently said, “It’s extraordinary. We’ve never heard anything like it. Everyone who lives on the estate works for the royals and knows how to behave respectfully.”

Another noted how hard it was to not take their list seriously. “It would be funny if it wasn’t so over the top,” they allegedly said. Royal commentator Ingrid Seward even heard about the “incessant” demands and said the whole thing sounded a bit “odd.”

“It’s odd because it’s just good manners to engage your neighbor in conversation in a pleasant way. It’s a very normal British thing to say ‘Good Morning’ and pat a dog,” Ingrid revealed. “The Queen always chats to neighbors and even has tea with people on the estate as she’s very friendly with them. The ‘not petting the dog’ is particularly strange.”

Thank goodness Harry and Meghan haven’t sent out these demands!
