Congratulations are in order! It's been a great year for Meghan Markle being that she married Prince Harry in May, and now, it just got a little better. The Duchess of Sussex has been nominated for her first-ever People's Choice Award!
The former actress — she starred on the USA show Suits for seven seasons — has been nominated for the Style Icon of 2018 award. The 37-year-old is competing against Rihanna, Gigi Hadid, Zendaya, Blake Lively, Emma Watson, Beyoncé, Meghan Markle, Harry Styles, Chadwick Boseman, Brooklyn Beckham, Jaden Smith, and Chris Pine. She previously earned a nomination in the Choice Style Icon category at the 2018 Teen Choice Awards last month, but sadly lost to Harry Styles.
The 44th People's Choice Awards will be on Sunday, Nov. 11 in LA, but don't expect Meghan and Prince Harry to show up on the red carpet for a photo shoot.
According to Life & Style, Meghan and Harry recently turned down an invitation to present at the Emmys later this month. "Meghan couldn't wait to show Harry off, but the palace wouldn't allow it," a source revealed. "There's a lot of planning that goes into a trip now that she's a Duchess. Nevertheless, it was a bit of letdown."
But that doesn't mean Meghan doesn't have dreams of attending an award show again in the future. "She's hoping to shoot a documentary about her humanitarian work that could earn her an Emmy, or maybe even an Oscar!" the insider shared.
However, it's not a huge deal that Meghan might not be attending the People's Choice Awards because a new poll has suggested that Kate Middleton has better style than Meghan, so there's a chance she might not even win! Apparently, Kate's flawless maternity style has trumped Meg's pantsuits, dresses, and more. We're torn on who is more of a style icon between the sisters-in-law, but we're still rooting for Meghan to win this prestigious award this fall!
