A return to show business for Meghan Markle? That’s what Robert Lacey, a leading royal historian, believes may occur.

The Duchess of Sussex, 37, recently became the royal patron of four organizations, with one of them being The National Theatre in London. And that’s important because it may give Prince Harry‘s wife the opening she needs to head back over to acting. It “is a canny and shrewd [assignment] on the Queen’s part,” Lacey tells People. “If Meghan is ever missing the excitement of acting, this will put her back in touch with show business in a very creative way. It is tailor-made for her and she will throw herself into it.”

Lacey also believes the mother-to-be can really dive in and become an active part of The National Theatre in the near future, saying, “I can see her getting involved with productions or even directing something.” But is it possible to see Meghan ever act again? The royal historian thinks so. “It’s not out of the question that we’d see a member of the royal family performing on the stage of the National Theatre one day,” he says. But if this doesn’t work out, perhaps Meghan can return to her roots on the show Suits. In fact, a recent report revealed that might be a possibility.

“We could be done in half a day or less,” a source told Daily Star of having Meghan film a brief cameo for the popular USA show. The insider added, “No final figure has yet been arrived at but negotiations are likely to be opened in the very near future. I’ve heard sums ranging from two to six million being kicked around, and that sounds a lot — but it would be one of the biggest marketing coups in TV history.”

Although, a return to TV may be tough since Meghan will have a lot on her plate anyway. At the moment, her other three patronages include The Association of Commonwealth Universities (an organization that represents higher education in all 53 Commonwealth countries), Smart Works (which is all about helping unemployed and vulnerable women regain the skills, confidence, and tools to succeed at job interviews), and lastly, Mayhew Animal Home & Humane Education Centre.
