Meghan Markle Has Always Acted Like a Royal With ‘Elegance’ and ‘Grace,’ Friends Reveal

Amid reports that pregnant Meghan Markle has been very stressed out due to all of the negative backlash she’s been receiving the past few months, her closest friends have rushed to her defense to make sure the duchess’ royal fans know she’s actually a really sweet, “generous” and “wicked funny” person in real life.

“Meg spends so much time taking care of everyone else — that’s her nature,“ one of Meghan’s friends, who chose to remain anonymous, told People in a new interview about the California native. Another pal added, “The way she carries herself, interacts with people, is how you would expect an actual royal to behave. She personifies elegance, grace, philanthropy.”

Apparently, when you see Meghan, 37, smiling and interacting with her fans in public, she’s not putting on an act — she’s just being her normal, happy-go-lucky self. “When I see her at engagements, folks will say, ‘This is the biggest acting job in the world. She’s acting.’ I’ll say, ‘No, this is how she is,’” another one of her friends explained. “She’s so genuine in her love to connect with people and feels so grateful to be able to do that.”

Meghan is lucky to have so many great people in her inner circle that are so loving and supportive. “She is one of the most selfless people I know,” her former colleague added. Another one of her close confidants said Meghan has never had a hard time staying in touch with her best friends, even after she became a royal.

“If I’m thrown some kind of curveball, I always think, ‘I gotta talk to Meg.’ We talk daily. And the first thing out of her mouth is, ‘How are the kids? How are you?’ I’m not even allowed to ask about her until she finds out about me,” her colleague said.

It seems like worldwide fame hasn’t changed Meghan at all. “She is the same person, though everything around her has changed,” one of her former costars noted. Meghan’s other friend said, “In any room, she’s very conscious of making sure everyone’s included. There are people who have met her once, even years and years ago, and they always remember exactly where they were when they met her and exactly what the conversation was because she so thoroughly engages.”
