It seems the Windy City just welcomed royal-to-be Meghan Markle for a short visit! According to a new report, Prince Harry‘s 36-year-old fiancée just returned to the US to finalize her application for a UK visa in Chicago. Meghan allegedly arrived at the VFS Global UK Visa Application Centre on Thursday, April 12 and spent only 10 minutes inside the building while wearing dark sunglasses and a Chicago White Sox baseball cap to avoid attention.

TMZ reported that Meghan was accompanied by four bodyguards and was “friendly with the staff” as she filled out paperwork at the government office, which was cleared out of all but a few employees. Sources told the entertainment news outlet that the former Suits star paid around $1,500 to have her visa application expedited and thus should have her travel visa back in just a few days.

It is thought that Meghan applied for a family visa and applied as a partner or spouse of a current UK resident (cough, cough, Harry). The application reportedly required her to document all previous marriages — she was hitched to Hollywood producer Trevor Engelson from 2011 until 2013 — and explain her plans to marry a British citizen within six months of arriving abroad. Thankfully, Harry and Meghan’s royal wedding is set to take place in just a few weeks on Saturday, May 19.

After Meghan’s visa expires, she’ll be required to apply for UK citizenship, which Kensington Palace previously confirmed she will do. While she was allegedly able to expeditie her visa application, Meghan’s citizenship paperwork may take up to three years to process. According to the Chicago Tribune, Meghan will be staying in Chi-Town through the evening on Sunday, April 15. Enjoy your time in Chicago, Meghan — we hope you get to eat some deep dish pizza during your trip!
