It seems like one Lifetime film just wasn’t enough! Following the success of Harry & Meghan: A Royal Romance, a 2018 TV movie that documented the time leading up to Meghan Markle and Prince Harry‘s highly anticipated royal wedding, Lifetime has announced that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s lives will be chronicled again in a sequel.

Titled Harry & Meghan: Becoming Royal, the new, scripted film will go inside Harry and Meghan’s first year of marriage, “pulling back the curtain to reveal the untold joys and challenges of life inside the royal family,” Entertainment Tonight reported.

With the first anniversary of their royal wedding quickly approaching on May 19, 2019, and Meg, 37, expected to give birth to the couple’s first child in a few short months, the film does not have an official premiere date yet. Production, however, will begin later this month in Vancouver, Canada with a debut planned for sometime in the spring of 2019.

Though a cast for the new film has yet to be officially announced by Lifetime, the two actors, Murray Fraser and Parisa Fitz-Henley, who portrayed Harry and Meghan, respectively, in the first TV movie will reportedly be replaced by new stars for the second film. In a past interview, Murray and Parisa dished of the pressures of portraying Harry, 34, and Meg on the small screen.

Parisa recently revealed to ET that she worried about portraying the former Suits actress “in a way that feels authentic,” while Murray had “serious doubt” about taking on a role that would attract both global attention and scrutiny.

The actor also confessed that he went back and forth about doing the film, only to come to the conclusion that it would be a smart career move. “The director made my decision a lot clearer because I was going to talk to them about how I don’t want to mimic [Harry and] be an impersonation of the guy,” Murray explained. “I want to get his essence and energy and bring that to the screen rather than being a copycat. The director was very cool with that and seeing the same image that I was.”

The exciting Harry & Meghan: Becoming Royal sequel news comes during a tumultuous time for Meg as she’s again dealing with her father, Thomas Markle, speaking out about her and the royal family to the press. Just a few days after a group of Meghan’s friends defended the duchess as a “selfless friend” in a new interview, Thomas released a heartbreaking letter that Meg apparently wrote to him just after she married Harry last year.

Thomas told the Daily Mail that he originally planned to keep the letter “totally private out of respect for her” until her friends “launched their attack” on him last week. In the personal note, Meghan wrote, “If you love me, as you tell the press you do, please stop. Please allow us to live our lives in peace. Please stop lying, please stop creating so much pain, please stop exploiting my relationship with my husband.”

The letter continued, “I realize you are so far down this rabbit hole that you feel (or may not feel) there’s no way out, but if you take a moment to pause I think you’ll see that being able to live with a clear conscience is more valuable than any payment in the world.” We hope all of Meghan’s family drama can be worked out before Baby Sussex arrives later this spring!
