Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan Look So in Love Holding Hands During First Day of African Royal Tour

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have arrived! Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan (née Markle) touched down in Cape Town, South Africa, on Monday, September 23, to kick off their 10-day royal tour of the African continent.

The royal couple, who were spotted arriving at the airport earlier in the morning with baby Archie in Meghan’s arms, left their first child with a nanny and attended their first outing at the Nyanga township. Meghan, 38, and Harry, 35, adorably held hands as they joined locals for a workshop run by an NGO called Justice Desk, which educates children on their rights, self-awareness and safety.

The program — which also offers self-defense classes and female empowerment training to young girls in the community — is supported by the Queen Elizabeth‘s Commonwealth Trust. As royal fans know, Harry is the president of the queen’s Commonwealth Trust, while his wife serves as vice-president.

During their outing at the Nyanga township, the former Suits actress and her red-haired hubby gave a speech to those who attended. Throughout their passionate speech, the sweet couple reflected on their 10-day African trip, which marks Meg’s first visit to South Africa and their first royal tour as a family of three.

“Just on one personal note, while I’m here with my husband as a member of the royal family. I want you to know, I am here with you as a mother, a wife, as a woman, as a woman of color and as your sister,” Meghan gushed to the beaming crowd, People reported.

Harry, on the other hand, addressed the importance of keeping women safe. “No man is born to cause harm to women. This is learned behavior and we need to break that cycle,” he said. “My role is to defend my wife and be a positive role model for my son.”

Considering Meghan and Harry have been dying to touch down in Africa for quite some time now, we can’t wait to see all the amazing things they do within the next 10 days.
