Another day, another update to John Mellencamp and Meg Ryan's tumultuous relationship! According to a new report, the duo are dating again — and frankly, we're super thrilled John and Meg are back together!
"They are together. It’s been a few months," a source confirmed to Page Six on Wednesday, July 26. The You've Got Mail star, 55, and John, 65, first became a couple back in 2010 but ended their relationship nearly four years later in 2014. A few months later, Meg and the singer gave their romance another try, but they again split in early 2015.
Following his breakup with Meg, the "Jack & Diane" singer began dating supermodel Christie Brinkley in September 2015, but the couple split in August 2016 after almost a year of dating. At the time, Meg told PORTER Magazine that she was taking a "little break" from dating. "I’m on a little break [from love]. I’m [in love] with my life right now in a way that I adore, with my kids and my world," she said.
"I love my age. I love my life right now. I love what I know about. I love the person I’ve become, the one I’ve evolved into. In my life I’ve been scrappy as hell, but I feel easy with things now. I think that comes with age," Meg continued. The actress also assured there were no hard feelings between herself and John after their split. "He's world class," she said in late 2015.

In March 2017, John opened up about his past relationship with Meg — and shockingly confessed things with the star were not as amicable as they once seemed. "Oh, women hate me. I loved Meg Ryan. She hates me to death. I think it’s because I’m a child. I throw fits, I gripe, I complain. I’m moody. Every bad thing that a fella can be, that’s me. [Meg] just doesn’t want anything to do with me [anymore], and I can’t blame her," he said.
But a few weeks later, an eyewitness exclusively told Closer Weekly that the former couple were spotted out together in NYC and seemed to be getting along just fine! "It was very amicable. They were deep in conversation," the source revealed. According to another insider close to both stars, the singer was hoping to reconcile with Meg and begin dating her again. "He still says his time with Meg was some of the happiest of his life. And he would love to be able to finesse the situation and once again find a place in her heart," the source told Closer. Apparently, John's tactic worked — and the two are now back together!
