John Mellencamp on Ex Meg Ryan: “She Hates Me to Death”

Well, that’s awkward!

In a new interview, John Mellencamp opened up about his ex Meg Ryan — and revealed she wants nothing to do with him today!

“Oh, women hate me,” he told Howard Stern on deejay’s XM radio show on Wednesday, March 1. “I loved Meg Ryan. She hates me to death.”

Why exactly does she hate him? “I think it’s because I’m a child. I throw fits, I gripe, I complain. I’m moody. Every bad thing that a fella can be, that’s me,” John, 65, added.

At one point, he even tried to make up with the actress, but she wasn’t having it! “I’ve done that. She just doesn’t want anything to do with me. And I can’t blame her.”

The “Jack and Diane” singer and Meg, 55, broke up in August 2014 after three years of dating allegedly because of the difficulties that come with long distance.

Prior to their fling, John was married to Priscilla Mellencamp from 1970–1981, Victoria Granucci from 1981 until 1989, and Elaine Irwin from 1992 until 2011.

When asked about his third wife, John responded, “I was married to Elaine for 20 years. Elaine and I are still good friends… Other than Elaine, of all the girls, [Meg] was fantastic.” So sweet!

It seems John has a lot of trouble keeping a woman around, though! In August 2016, the singer split from stunning model Christie Brinkley after just one year of dating.

“Both the mileage between their homes and their heavy career demands interfered with their ability to maintain the relationship,” a rep revealed at the time. “They vowed to remain best of friends.” Sound familiar?
