Flying solo for the holidays can be lonely for some, especially Mayim Bialik who isn’t afraid to admit it. The Big Bang Theory actress took to Instagram on Monday, Dec. 24 to share a sorrowful selfie. “It’s Christmas Eve day, I’m newly single, and not doing so well to be quite honest,” Mayim wrote in the caption as she wore a Star of David necklace while laying down.

And while the 43-year-old was waiting for someone to sing “All I Want For Christmas Is You,” being single on the merry holiday isn’t the only worry she has this year. “The most pressing issue right now is that my cats — after two years together — have started a dominance war that involves urine and feces. Long story short, my bed is not able to be slept in and I’m sleeping on my couch.” Poor thing!

Mayim sure didn’t forget to wish others well, though. “Just keeping you updated as to my life here,” she added. “Happy Erev Christmas!”

Last month, fans were sad to hear that the Beaches actress split from her boyfriend, whose name was never publicly revealed. However, they were given insight into the relationship after Mayim opened up about the breakup in a blog post for her website, Grok Nation, on Tuesday, Dec. 18.

“My love story is nothing particularly exceptional. I mean, he was — er is. I was an exceptional iteration of myself with him. For five years in fact. And now it’s over,” the actress wrote. “There is rarely good timing for a break-up. But most certainly, the worst time is now. In case he is reading this, I’m just meh with this timing. Because say what you will, the holidays are a time to not be recently broken up. I know this much is true. The air is full of clarity and possibility.”

This isn’t the first time that Mayim has gotten candid about her relationship issues. In on a blog post on Tuesday, Nov. 27, she opened up about her first marriage and the troubles of co-parenting. “I would be lying if I didn’t say I was nervous. I am single again and it was painful to be ‘alone,’” the brunette beauty wrote of her divorce with Michael Stone in 2013 after being together for 10 years.

“Doing separate holidays seems excessive and sad,” Mayim explained of co-parenting her sons Miles, 13, and Fredrick, 10. “We are a family even though we are divorced. I want to witness them eating the foods we make them and it feels good to sit at a table with them and their father.”

We wish nothing but peace and happiness for Mayim this holiday season!
