"Was going to surprise everyone on Christmas, but just can’t wait any longer. We are so happy to announce to the world that we are engaged!" she wrote on the social media platform next to a photo album of them riding horses together as well as two pics of her showing off her ring.
"Just a few days after my birthday, on the most romantic holiday of our lives, the man of my dreams asked me to marry him! After tears of joy, gasps of shock, and a split second of disbelief, of course — I said YES! I can’t imagine our lives apart," she added. "What I can imagine is a bright future full of love & light, family & friends, moments that turn into cherished memories, and a lifetime of pure bliss. 💙💍"
Maybe the third time's a charm, for this marks Matt's third engagement. He split with his first fiancée, Gaia Polloni, in 2009. Two years later, he put a ring on Kate's finger, but the two called it quits in 2014. They share a six-year-old son, Bingham, together.

Kate — who is now happy and in love with her new boyfriend, Danny Fujikawa — previously opened up about their split, and said it was because they had "different visions." "Relationships ending are painful, and you can choose to carry that or you can choose to reframe it," she said. "If Matt and I had a great relationship, we would still be together, but we chose to move on because we had different visions of how we wanted to live our lives. That doesn't mean, though, that we can't rebuild something that would be the best thing for the kids."
Best of luck to Matt and Elle!
