It’s no secret actress Blake Lively, best known for her role on the hit series Gossip Girl, idolizes lifestyle maven Martha Stewart, recently telling Vogue, “I’ve only ever found her to be completely generous and kind. She’s one of those people who connect people with each other. She’s there for you.”

But it appears Martha thinks the 26-year-old should stick to her first love: acting.

Though the pair are pals — the chef “sent her team down to save us,” shared Blake of a near wedding disaster — that doesn’t mean the 72-year-old thinks the blonde bombshell should quit her day job.

“They’re very friendly, very nice people,” Martha said of the star and her husband, actor Ryan Reynolds. “In a way, kind of shy — not shy on the screen, at all, if you’ve seen any of Blake’s movies — but very shy in person.”

She added, “But she’s a baker and a homemaker and now she’s starting her own blog [Preserve]…I haven’t seen it yet.”

So what does the businesswoman think about Blake becoming “the next Martha Stewart?”

“Let her try,” was the talk show host’s reply.

“I don’t mean that facetiously!” she told HuffPost Entertainment. “I mean, it’s stupid, she could be an actress! Why would you want to be me if you could be an actress?”

Martha shared, “I just did a movie yesterday, though — I can’t even tell you about it — but I want to be Blake Lively.”

Was that a back-handed compliment, then? Maybe the duo aren’t as chummy as Blake thought!
