Aww!Marie Osmond Thanks God for Her ‘Dear Brother Donny’ After Announcing End of Las Vegas Residency
With the end of their Las Vegas residency approaching, Marie Osmond is feeling sentimental. While reminiscing about her decades-long career, the “Paper Roses” singer took to Instagram on Sunday, March 24 to share her feelings about her 11-year run at the Flamingo Hotel and also gave a sweet shoutout to her “dear brother” and onstage partner, Donny Osmond.
“This week, my brother Donny and I made it official: we will be taking our final bow this November at the @flamingovegas,” the 59-year-old wrote in the caption, referring to the duo’s announcement on Thursday, March 21’s episode of Good Morning America. “I have always tried to remind myself that Donny is my brother first and my business partner second. He knew I would need the support of my brother. Donny has been with me through some very difficult trials.”
Marie added that although she and her brother are “very prayerful in coming to this decision and we both feel peace about it,” it won’t be easy by any means for them to say goodbye. “It is so HARD to think about parting ways with so many amazing, talented and hardworking people who have become our ‘family’ these past 11 years,” Marie professed.
The “Meet Me in Montana” songstress then directed the attention towards the pair’s supporters. “Then, there’s you — our dedicated and loyal friends, fans and acquaintances. Thank you for coming to our shows, some of you returning many times over,” she gushed. “None of this would ever have been possible without you. How much do I appreciate you?! You have made all the difference. You have made us who we are.”

During their appearance on GMA, Donny opened up about taking the stage with his sister and how she has always remained a dedicated entertainer despite struggles throughout her career. “We have been through so much the past 11 years, her particularly, and she gets on stage and she’s such a professional and she does a great job,” the 61-year-old said while referring to her son Michael Blosil’s heartbreaking suicide in 2010, among other tribulations she’s faced. “I’m going to miss this a lot. What she’s gone through and still remained a professional — there’s a bond here that will never be broken.”

Even Marie admitted that Donny has been a crucial support system for her through the darkest days. “I have been through a lot but he’s been my rock,” the brunette beauty revealed. “I went through a terrible divorce here, and terrible custody battle and I lost a child here.”
While they understand that the final farewell will be quite sad for fans, Donny and Marie have one thing to say to fans: “Saying goodbye is never easy,” Marie wrote in the caption of her Instagram post. “But as Donny said, ‘It’s the end of The Donny & Marie Show, it’s not the end of Donny and Marie.” Las Vegas won’t shine as bright without you, Donny and Marie!
