Always in her heart. Marie Osmond paid tribute to her late son, Michael, on what would’ve been his 29th birthday. The Talk cohost shared a touching message and rare photo of the mother-son duo via Instagram to commemorate the bittersweet celebration.

“Happy birthday my angel son!!!” Marie, 60, gushed alongside a throwback photo of Michael sitting on his mom’s lap as a toddler on Monday, May 4. “I love you eternally.”

Marie’s fans showed their love and support as they flooded the post’s comment section with sweet messages. “Sending love and hugs,” one user wrote, while another follower echoed, “Happy birthday in heaven to Michael. Sending you lots of love today, Marie.” A third user chimed in, writing, “My heart is with you on this difficult day.”

Although it’s been 10 years since Marie tragically lost her son Michael to suicide in January 2010, she’s continued to honor him as time goes on. Prior to the 10th anniversary of her son’s death, the Donny & Marie star explained how she struggles with the loss of her child even after a decade.

“February is a challenging month for me as it brings forward the memories of my son Michael’s death,” she candidly wrote in a lengthy Instagram post in early February. After revealing she got some “devastating news” that two of her “dear” friends were recently diagnosed with cancer, Marie explained how she deals with life’s hardest “trials and devastating loss.”

“I know the pain of losing a child, but I also remember the people who were there for me, who came as they were and brought what they had from their life experiences, and it all came with love,” Marie sweetly continued at the time. “It feels inadequate to simply ‘be there,’ but that act of simple support is so breathtakingly beautiful, healing and important.”

Since Marie lost her beloved son over a decade ago, she’s been open and honest with her fans throughout her journey of healing. The “Paper Roses” songstress — who is also the proud mom of Stephen, 37, Jessica, 32, Rachael, 30, Brandon, 23, Brianna, 22, Matthew, 20, and Abigail, 17 — even dished how she learned to cope with Michael’s unfathomable death.

“You keep living. I thought I knew what sorrow was, but you don’t ever know until you’ve been through it,” she exclusively shared with Closer Weekly in January 2019. “There’s no joy in sorrow like it says in the Scriptures, but I’ve come to the conclusion that the joy they’re talking about is looking at somebody else who’s been through what I’ve been through and saying, ‘I understand.’ There’s joy in loving other people and saying you know how they feel and that they’re going to get through this, too.”

We’re thinking of you, Marie!
