She’s caught the anchoring bug! Maria Shriver returned to television in May as a special anchor and correspondent for NBC and returned to the Today show for the first time in 15 years to co-host this morning’s show.

The journalist balanced different anchoring jobs in the late ‘80s and ‘90s, and seems to slowly be increasing her TV presence since she split with husband Arnold Schwarzenegger two years ago. The former first lady of California received a warm welcome from the crew, who took her on a quick walk down memory lane of her former anchoring gigs with the program.

Weatherman Al Roker also shared a fun shot of Shriver and co-anchor Natalie Morales looking serious on set.

Shriver took a break from broadcast journalism in 2004 to support husband Arnold in his role as Governor of California and took on several key initiatives during her time as first lady. In her current role with NBC, Shriver works specifically with issues surrounding the “shifting roles, emerging power and evolving needs of women in modern life,” according to a statement from NBC.
