Perhaps her hair color isn’t the only thing Maria is going to change in 2019. In a recent exclusive interview with Closer Weekly, the TV personality candidly opened up about how “this is definitely the year” she wants to have kids.

“We kind of want to have twins and get it over with,” she joked, referring to her husband, Keven Undergaro, whom she just celebrated her first wedding anniversary with on New Year’s Eve. “But we’ll see.”

Maria and her husband want babies now more than ever after the TV star battled a brain tumor in 2017. “I realized that my health has to be first and that life is really short,” the red-haired beauty admitted. “So many things have changed — just my perspective on what I will and won’t do. I really want to pursue the things that I feel passionately about.”

And that’s exactly why Maria, who’s now in remission, feels that 2019 is the perfect year to bring some children into their lives. “I’m trying to enjoy time with friends and family more,” the Emmy award-winning journalist stated. “I was so career-oriented. It’s such a big deal to put away the phone. Now every day is just a blessing.”

Maria has said that battling a brain tumor ultimately changed her entire outlook on life. “This whole thing has been such a gift,” she said. “This happened for a reason.”
