In a candid new interview, Maks, 37, revealed his stunning fiancée "keeps trying to postpone" their upcoming nuptials. "In my personal life, I can’t wait for my wedding in July," the Dancing With the Stars pro dancer recently told Vulkan Magazine. "Peta keeps trying to postpone it and I’m like 'No, I want to marry you, godd—it!'"
"We have this crazy dream of getting married in a castle so we want to try and make that happen — in New York!" Maks continued.
In another recent interview, Peta's love dished on the DWTS couple's wedding plans. "We have an amazing, amazing space on Long Island, Oheka [Castle]. It's going to be great," Maksim told ABC News.
The venue for their nuptials holds a very special place in Maks' heart as he's dreamed of tying the knot in the castle since moving from Ukraine to America in the early 1990s.
"I remember when I was passing by this castle when I first immigrated, and [I said], 'That's where I want to have my wedding,' and I just said it so [casually] and now it's happening," he added. "We went there. It’s perfect. We're going to have it for two days. They're closing the whole hotel. It's going to be unbelievable."
"I hate to admit, but I've just removed myself from [wedding planning]," Maks confessed. "I had to do my part of the [guest] list, which I never thought was that difficult, but it's kind of ridiculous."
"Some things are a little too much but we just dreamt up this opportunity for ourselves and we're trying to make it happen the way we want it to. I want her to have the wedding of her dreams," Maks added.
Maksim and Peta, 30, first became an item in 2012 and dated for 10 months before calling it quits. They rekindled their romance October 2014 and Maks popped the question to Peta in December 2015. The DWTS couple later welcomed their first child, son Shai Aleksander Chmerkovskiy, in January 2017.
