Heartbreaking. Before the tragic and sudden death of Luke Perry, the late actor and his fiancée, Wendy Madison Bauer, had been planning to say their I do’s.

The “save the date” card, obtained by Us Weekly, was sent by the couple to their family and friends and announced when and where they were to set to marry: August 17 in Los Angeles. The notice did not provide additional information, but did inform folks that a “formal invitation” would follow.

The Beverly Hills, 90210 alum passed away after a massive stroke at the age of 52. A few days after his death, Wendy, 44, shared a statement expressing how happy she is to see all this support during a tough time. She said: “I want to express my gratitude to everyone for the outpouring of love and support. The countless, heartwarming stories of Luke’s generosity and kindness have been a great source of solace during this difficult time. The past 11½ years with Luke were the happiest years of my life, and I am grateful to have had that time with him. I also want to thank his children, family and friends for their love and support. We have found comfort in one another and in the knowledge that our lives were touched by an extraordinary man. He will be dearly missed.”

Many tributes have poured in since the Riverdale costar’s passing, including one from his daughter, Sophie. “A lot has happened in this past week for me,” Luke’s youngest child, 18, captioned a photo of herself and her father together. “Everything is happening so fast. I made it back from Malawi just in time to be here with my family. And in the past 24 hours, I have received an overwhelming amount of love and support.” He also had a son, Jack, who is 21.

She added: “I cannot individually respond to the hundreds of beautiful and heartfelt messages, but I see them and appreciate you all for sending positivity to my family and I. I’m not really sure what to say or do in this situation, it’s something you aren’t ever given a lesson on how to handle, especially when it’s all happening in the public eye. So bear with me and know that I am grateful for all the love. Just, being grateful quietly.”

Luke was buried in Dickson, Tennessee, on Monday, March 11. Our thoughts are with his loved ones.
