Lisa Marie Presley Has Always Stayed True to Herself — See Elvis’ Daughter Through the Years

A true rock ‘n’ roll princess. Lisa Marie Presley has been in the spotlight ever since she was born in February 1968 thanks to her amazing songwriting skills and her famous father, Elvis Presley.

Sadly, Lisa Marie died at the age of 54 on January 12, 2023, after suffering a cardiac arrest at her Calabasas, California, home and was rushed to the hospital.

“It is with a heavy heart that I must share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us,” her mother Priscilla Presley said in a statement. “She was the most passionate, strong and loving woman I have ever known.”

In 2003, the “Lights Out” singer grabbed everyone’s attention when she released her debut album, To Whom It May Concern, which reached No. 5 on the Billboard 200 albums chart. After its release, Lisa followed it up with Now What in April 2005 and her third album, Storm & Grace, in May 2012.

“I made some pretty angry and defensive (songs) probably anticipating what was expected of me and fighting against it … there was a lot of production and hiding behind things, not really wanting to lay myself out there because I was afraid or feeling too vulnerable,” she previously told Reuters about her masterpiece Storm & Grace. “Once I got that out of my system … I just quieted and calmed down … In this process of writing this record, I found a better bed for myself and my voice and my writing to lie in.”

Thanks to the success of her three albums, Lisa has been doing well for herself in the entertainment industry. She used to share her accolades with her partners, but after four divorces, Lisa has just been focusing on herself. The songwriter was last married to Michael Lockwood from 2006 to 2016 and they share their twins, Harper and Finley Lockwood.

Lisa also welcomed two children with her first husband, Danny Keough — daughter Riley Keough and son Benjamin Keough. Benjamin died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound at age 27 in July 2020. “The family is devastated,” a source exclusively told Closer Weekly about his passing. “They’re all worried about Lisa now. The family is gathering together.”

After the tragic death of her son, Lisa took a step back from the spotlight as her family rallied around her. In October 2020, she posted a tribute to Benjamin on what would have been his 28th birthday.

“The depth of the pain is suffocating and bottomless without you every moment of every day. I will never be the same,” she wrote alongside a photo of her son. “Please wait for me my love and hold my hand while I stay to continue to protect and raise your little sisters and to be here for Riley. I know you would want that. Happy birthday my sweet sweet boy. You were much too good for this world.”
