He may be the creator of arguably the most popular stage play out there, but Lin-Manuel Miranda recently revealed that even he got quite nervous knowing that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were watching his show.

On August 2018, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex went on a lovely date together to London’s West End to watch a charity performance of the hit musical Hamilton, and now Lin-Manuel, 39, is finally revealing just how that made him feel.

“I’ve had a lot of really cool experiences with Hamilton; that was a really cool one,” the composer told Us Weekly at Maestro Cares Foundation’s Changing Lives, Building Dreams Gala in New York City on Thursday, March 14. He continued, “I was a little nervous sitting next to the sixth great-grandson of King George III, who we are lampooning on stage, but he had seen the show before, actually.” “He and Meghan had seen it before they saw it with us, so I was confident we would have a fun night. And they were wonderful and very sweet and down to earth,” the playwright added.

The actor also added a little insight into how the pair are in person. “They were really nice and normal, as normal as a [royal] couple … can be,” he told the outlet. “We talked about how hard it is to plan a wedding. Our experiences were pretty different, but it’s still a pain in the ass to plan a wedding!”

According to Hamilton actress Rachel John, the former actress, 37, spoke to her after the show in August and revealed that she and Harry love the musical but her husband just won’t stop singing songs from the show at home. “We saw it back in January, February and thought it was incredible,” the Suits alum allegedly told the star. “Harry loved it, it was the first time he saw it, and now he can’t stop singing the songs!”

So Lin-Manuel should feel extremely excited that the royal couple is all about his play!
