This is the first child for the TV star. She announced she and her now-estranged husband, Ed Hartwell, were expecting their first baby together via Instagram in July 2016. "Surprise! We have a new addition coming soon… Tune into #KandidlyKeshia this week for the details!" Keshia captioned a cute photo of herself holding a pink cupcake adorned with a baby topper at the time.

Shortly after Keshia revealed the couple's exciting baby news, Ed shockingly filed for divorce from her after less than a year of marriage. As previously reported, he filed for legal separation from the child star in Georgia's Fulton County Superior Court days later, and requested his pregnant wife undergo a paternity test. Ed — a former pro football player — is already a dad to a nine-year-old son, Edgerton Hartwell, Jr., whom he welcomed with his ex-wife, Lisa Wu-Hartwell, in May 2007.

Despite the unfortunate circumstances, Keshia remained positive throughout her entire pregnancy. On Thanksgiving, she took to social media to count her blessings.

"This has been this single most challenging year of my life. However, I wake up this Thanksgiving more grateful and in awe of God's power than ever. Through it all this little face has kept me going and helped me tap into strength I didn't even know I possess," she wrote in November 2016 alongside an ultrasound snapshot. "I am so eternally grateful for my little Ella. I would not trade any of what I have gone through for her. She is my greatest accomplishment and joy. She has inspired my smile even through the tears. I am so proud she has chosen me to be her mommy."
