Kelly Ripa Says She Would Love to Have Tom Cruise in Her ‘Quarantine Dream House’: ‘Of Course’
If you could choose anyone to quarantine with, who would it be? Kelly Ripa revealed she’d love to social distance with Tom Cruise when she hosted the Memorial Day episode of Live With Kelly and Ryan with husband Mark Consuelos.
“Of course,” she said, while adding celebrity chef Myron Mixon and her cohost, Ryan Seacrest, to the list. After hearing Kelly’s answers, Mark, 49, agreed with his wife, but he said he would love to have comedian Dave Chappelle in his “quarantine dream house” too.
While the duo chatted about their ideal lives during the coronavirus pandemic, fans wondered where Ryan was. He previously skipped the May 18 episode of Live due to exhaustion and he seemed to be doing better when he returned to work on May 19. “I’m doing well, thank you. I want to thank Mark for filling in yesterday,” the producer said at the time. “He’s so good at it! Also, all the very kind well-wishes for my exhaustion, working around the clock.” Unfortunately, Kelly offered no explanation for Ryan’s absence this time around.
Until he returns to Live, Mark will most likely continue filling in for him. Fans were surprised to learn Kelly has been hosting the show from the Caribbean this whole time, but it’s been a nice opportunity to bond with her three kids — Michael, 22, Lola, 18, and Joaquin, 17.
Since Kelly’s clothes and beauty products are locked up in ABC’s studio in New York, her daughter has been helping her get glammed up in the morning. The All My Children alum revealed she’s been borrowing Lola’s clothes and has been using her self-tanner. Not to mention, the teen also showed Kelly how to do her hair in some creative ways.
“My daughter learned how to do my hair using the tie of your bathrobe,” she revealed on Live in April. “She watched a TikTok video on how to do hair by wrapping your hair around the bathrobe tie. And my daughter did my hair!”
Kelly has also been receiving help from Michael. The NYU grad has been producing the end of Kelly’s show, even though he doesn’t like it as much. “Breaking news: Michael Consuelos wanted me to tell you, Ryan,” she said during the May 6 episode of Live, “that he is most certainly not enjoying his time in quarantine.” Ha!
Looks like the only thing Kelly and her family are missing is the company of their dream quarantine housemates.
