Fans love watching Kelly Ripa on Live With Kelly and Ryan, but there’s something really special about following the actress’ life at home with her handsome husband, Mark Consuelos, on Instagram. The TV star’s engagement ring from her man is stunning — and what makes it even more special is the couple’s funny and romantic love story behind it!

During an interview on Anna Faris’ podcast, Unqualified, in late July, Kelly opened up about her 22-year marriage to Mark. “We never had an engagement, we just eloped,” she said before adding that they tied the knot before she even had a ring on her finger.

In fact, she got it 10 years later! “It must have been making him feel a certain way that I didn’t have a ring so for our 10th anniversary we bought me a ring!” Kelly gushed. 

In a previous interview, Kelly, 47, opened up about her most prized possession, and to no surprise, it was the piece of bling Mark gave her a decade after they said “I do.” When once asked what personal item she’d never throw away by Elle, she replied, “My wedding ring. I’m sure my kids will drag it from my dead body but I will never part with it because it’s so special.” So sweet!

The ring features a shiny round diamond with a gold band. So simple and perfect! Kelly is also often spotted wearing her wedding band today, which is also a stunning band with diamonds all around it. Maybe one day she’ll pass them down to her 17-year-old daughter, Lola?

Kelly and Mark met back in the ’90s when Mark auditioned for a role in All My Children, which Kelly was on at the time. “I thought she was adorable, hot, and sexy and all that stuff,” Mark once said of his now-wife. “But I was very focused — I didn’t really think I had a chance with her, so I wasn’t really focused on that.”

Fortunately for Mark, Kelly was really into him! The couple played couple Haley and Mateo on the show before they eventually became a duo in real life! “I was drawn to Mark because he was positively an alpha male, and I didn’t think I would be drawn to that. But I just worship him,” Kelly once said of her man. 

After just a few short months of dating, Mark proposed to Kelly in a super casual setting. The couple then eloped in Las Vegas on May 1, 1996. So fun! They then welcomed their first child, son Michael, 21, in June 1997, daughter Lola in June 2001, and son Joaquin, 15, in February 2003. The pair recently celebrated their 22nd wedding anniversary — and today, they’re still together and more in love than ever! Here’s to many more years of happiness for Kelly and Mark.
