There’s a hairstylist in the family! Kelly Ripa showed just how savvy she is at doing hair when she gave her 22-year-old son, Michael Consuelos, a nice haircut on the Thursday, April 30, episode of Live With Kelly and Ryan.

While Kelly, 49, and her cohost, Ryan Seacret, took directions from Xavier Cruz, founder of Barba Men’s Grooming Boutique in N.Y, the blonde beauty grabbed a pair of kitchen scissors and went to town. “If you’re just using scissors, you can do a scissor over comb,” Xavier explained on a video call.

However, Kelly didn’t need to do much to her son’s hair because Michael already trimmed it before the show. “I don’t want to brag, but Michael took a clipper to his own head and I think he did a pretty extraordinary job, not realizing that we were going to do this segment today,” the proud mom to her three kids, Michael, Lola, 18, and Joaquin, 17, gushed. “But I think he did OK.”

The Riverdale guest star agreed. “It’s an amateur job, but I think I did OK,” he said.

As for Kelly’s husband, Mark Consuelos, Ryan, 45, wanted to know if the actor ever shaved his hair off. “Mark has shaved his head completely bald, many times,” the All My Children alum explained. “He’s done it for roles, like when he’s gotten a role on the show and he’s had to shave his head. And then he’s just done it for pleasure/to upset me.” LOL.

Until coronavirus ends, Kelly and her family will have to continue doing their own hair. Thankfully, they have the TV personality at home to help anyone who needs an extra hand. After all, Kelly chopped her own tresses in quarantine and revealed the stunning results on the April 20 episode of her talk show.

“I’m not going to lie, I cut my own hair,” she hilariously revealed. “I used kitchen scissors. We obviously don’t have haircutting scissors. Even though she didn’t have the right tools, Kelly still did an amazing job!
