From the first moment she saw him, Kelly Preston knew that she wanted to marry John Travolta. While recently appearing on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Kelly gushed about her long marriage to John and recalled the first moment they met while filming the 1989 movie The Experts.

“Well, I was not that happily married [at the time] let’s put it that way. I was really with the wrong person,” she said of her previous, two-year marriage to Kevin Gauge. “But this is what I see coming across the lobby: I’m sitting there ready to screen test and I see [John].” Kelly explained that she smitten right away when she saw her now-husband’s demeanor. She then tried to re-enact the moment which led host Andy to ask her, “what’s the best and worst parts about being married to John Travolta?”

“There [are] too many best things! His lips, dancing, fun, laughing. [We still dance] all the time,” Kelly replied. “[Our] kids dance with us, we dance at the house. We go out dancing. Yeah, I love it.”

The two Hollywood stars have been happily married for 26 years and are parents to daughter Ella Bleu Travolta, 18, and son Benjamin Travolta, 7. The couple sadly lost their eldest child, Jett Travolta, after he suffered a seizure nine years ago at age 16.

During a previous exclusive interview with Closer Weekly, the two actors revealed how they make their marriage work. “Keep checking in, and keep growing, and changing,” Kelly told Closer. “Keep doing things, just the two of you.” Some couples, John said, “don’t explore what the new needs are for each other. If you take a little bit of energy to take inventory of ‘What are you interested in lately?’ then you can keep it fresh.” He added that “we really care deeply about each other and we protect each other — and we keep [our relationship] up to date.” Kelly and John will celebrate their 27th anniversary in September.
