Kelly Clarkson Is Joining 'The Voice' as a Season 14 Coach!

The 35-year-old singer will appear as a coach on the hit reality show’s upcoming Season 14, NBC confirmed on Thursday, May 11.

“I’m so excited to join The Voice at NBC. We’ve gone back and forth about a role as a coach for years, but the timing hasn’t been right until now,” Kelly said of her new gig in a statement.

“I have always loved appearing on the show as an adviser or performer and established an amazing relationship with the network during my Christmas special,” she continued.

“I can’t wait to turn my chair and see the faces of up-and-coming artists and provide them with the help and support they’ve needed to break into the industry. Watch out Blake Shelton, I’m comin’ to win!” Kelly added.

Later on Thursday, Kelly said her recent pregnancies with daughter River Rose, 2, and son Remington, 1, prevented her from appearing on The Voice in a more permanent role in the past.

“Kelly has been a part of The Voice family for many years as an adviser and performer. We are thrilled she has chosen to join us as a coach to mentor the next generation through our unique vocal boot camp,” NBC Entertainment President Paul Telegdy said in a press release.

“Every time Kelly Clarkson sings you are reminded what an incredible voice really is. We are looking forward to the sound of Kelly Clarkson on The Voice,” Telegdy added.

The Voice is far from the first reality singing competition Kelly has starred on. The mom-of-two famously won the inaugural season of American Idol back in 2002 and rose to stardom after the show.

Earlier this week, ABC announced the network is bringing American Idol back to TV following the show’s 2016 finale on FOX. We’re guessing Kelly’s involvement with The Voice means the star won’t be returning to American Idol, but we’ll just have to wait and see!
