Mother-daughter bonding! Kelly Clarkson dropped her new music video for “Broken & Beautiful” on April 25, and her 4-year-old daughter, River Rose, made an appearance. If their cute moments don’t make your day, we’re not sure what will.
The pop star’s track is from her latest project — an animated film called UglyDolls. Moxy, the character Kelly, 37, voices in the movie, also costarred in the music video along with her daughter. The video starts off with Moxy making her way to Kelly, who’s in a dressing room with River. Kelly is getting glammed, while her little one helps her get ready. There’s no better beauty lesson than actually being hands-on, right? River is seen looking through clothes and applying makeup on her mom as she sings the empowering bop.
“I know I’m Superwoman/I know I’m strong/ I know I’ve got this ’cause I’ve had it all along/ I’m phenomenal and I’m enough/ I don’t need you to tell me who to be,” Kelly sings before hitting the chorus. “Can someone just hold me?/ Don’t fix me/ don’t try to change a thing/ Can someone just know me?/ ‘Cause underneath, I’m broken and it’s beautiful,” she continues as she and her daughter bond.
UglyDolls, which is a film that celebrates being different, is expected to hit theaters on May 3. Though geared more towards children, the impressive cast may interest adults. Besides Kelly, celebs like Nick Jonas, Janelle Monáe, Blake Shelton, Emma Roberts, among others have a role in the film.
Nick, 26, recently got candid about what the movie means to him. “I think that in everything we do, you know, my brothers and I, Priyanka [Chopra] and I, everything we do, we think about the future,” Nick told E! News on April 14. “And building something that becomes a part of a legacy in some way, and a story we can share with our kids in the future.”
“That’s everything from the music to projects that we align ourselves with and, maybe some of the projects that are more adult-themed we’ll hold those back ’til they get older obviously,” The “Chains” singer continued. “But with something like [UglyDolls], it’s just a joy to be able to do this for the kids in general.” Preach!
