She may have one of the best singing voices in the industry, but even Kelly Clarkson receives harsh feedback — and sometimes it even comes from her own daughter.

The 36-year-old recently revealed that her two children — River Rose, 4, and Remington Alexander, 2 — pretty much shrug at the fact she’s a big-time star. “They do not care anymore. They’re not impressed,” she joked to Entertainment Tonight, proceeding to tell a cute story about her oldest daughter giving her quite the reality check after a rehearsal performance.

“I wasn’t singing full-out because it’s, like, three days in a row and then we have four days in a row for the show, so I was holding back,” the original American Idol winner explained. “She was like, ‘Mommy, you know when you’re on stage and you were singing?’ And I was like, ‘Yeah, baby.’ I was thinking like a compliment was about to come. She was like, ‘Yeah, I was really bored,'” Kelly recalled. Talk about an honest kiddo!

The Voice judge was clearly taken aback. “I was like, ‘Oh. Damn.’ … ‘Well, that was sweet, honey. Maybe don’t tell people that when they get off stage,'” she said. “But they don’t care, they’re over it. They see it all the time.”

The “A Moment Like This” singer shares her two kids with her husband of six years, Brandon Blackstock, whose stepmom just happens to be country star, Reba McEntire. In fact, Kelly once revealed on stage how much her mother-in-law means to her. “Sometimes when we meet our heroes, it doesn’t always pan out how you hope,” she said after being made an honoree at the 41st annual Kennedy Center Honors on December 2.

“But meeting Reba — being friends with her, and eventually becoming family — has been one of the highlights of my life, truly. So thank you so much for listening to me vent as an artist.” Kelly continued. “Thank you so much for comforting me on the phone through my tears, like a friend. And thank you for being a really rad grandma for my kids.”
