Although fans assumed Katie would be spending another birthday with Jamie Foxx, she’ll actually be celebrating solo as the former pair called it quits in August. Despite ending their relationship after six years dating on-and-off, a source close to Katie told Closer Weekly she’s doing better than ever.

“Of course she misses having a partner by her side, Jamie was a lot of fun, but she and Suri are doing just fine,” the insider said of Katie and her 13-year-old daughter, Suri Cruise. “Their bond is stronger than ever and they’re excited about spending the holidays together with Suri’s cousins and grandparents.”

Shortly after news first circulated that the Batman Begins actress and the Django Unchained star, 52, officially split at the end of summer, fans were dying to know how Katie was coping. At the time, a separate source told Closer that the Ray Donovan actress — who shares Suri with ex-husband Tom Cruise — was doing better than most thought.

“Katie’s doing just fine. Suri has asked about Jamie and her mom told her the truth, that she and Jamie have broken up,” the insider exclusively revealed to Closer. “Suri’s a lot more mature than people think.”

Despite many fans thinking Katie and Jamie would eventually tie the knot one day, the first source insisted their romance was over for good. “Katie and Jamie have uncoupled and moved on,” the insider explained. “There’s no need to worry about Katie having a lonely Christmas, being single again has only made her a stronger individual.”
