Katie Holmes and Daughter Suri Cruise, 13, Look Like Twins in Rare Instagram Selfie
Instagram cuties! Katie Holmes couldn’t help but share a sweet selfie with her daughter, Suri Cruise, while celebrating Christmas with her dearest loved ones. The beloved actress took to her Instagram story on Thursday, December 26, and snapped a rare photo with her 13-year-old mini-me.
In the black and white photo, Katie, 41, and Suri can be seen beaming with joy as they smiled into the camera. The mother-daughter duo looked liked twins as they gave fans a glimpse inside their family’s fun-filled holiday festivities.
Considering the Dawson’s Creek alum — who shares her little girl with ex-husband Tom Cruise —part ways with longtime boyfriend Jamie Foxx after six years in August, we bet she couldn’t wait to spend some quality time with her little girl. Sources exclusively told Closer Weekly Katie and Suri were celebrating Christmas with her family in her native Ohio.
“Of course she misses having a partner by her side, Jamie was a lot of fun, but she and Suri are doing just fine,” the insider shared with Closer. “Their bond is stronger than ever and they’re excited about spending the holidays together with Suri’s cousins and grandparents.”
According to the insider, the doting mom and her growing youngster were super happy to get out of New York City and enjoy some R&R with Katie’s parents, brother, sisters and the rest of the family. The Batman Begins actress’ daughter was especially excited for the holidays.
“Suri’s Christmas with her family is going to be a lot of fun, but like most teenagers, she’ll be texting and FaceTiming her friends and looking forward to getting back home to spend time with them,” the source added. “Suri really is a regular kid, Katie has done a wonderful job.”
Although fans were optimistic about a potential reunion between Katie and the Django Unchained star — who were first romantically linked in 2013 — the insider insisted their longtime relationship was officially over. “Katie and Jamie have uncoupled and moved on,” the source explained. “There’s no need to worry about Katie having a lonely Christmas, being single again has only made her a stronger individual.”
News of Jamie, 52, and Katie’s shocking split was first revealed in early August after the beloved comedian was spotted out with another woman in Los Angeles. Just days after photos surfaced of the Ray star getting flirty with the mystery gal, a source told In Touch Weekly Katie ended the relationship.
Despite being single for the holidays, Suri was sure to have her mama’s back. Even though “Suri loves Jamie,” a previous source said the brunette beauty fully supported her mom’s decision. “She trusts [Katie], she didn’t really question it too much,” the insider added.
We’re so happy Katie and Suri were able to spend some well-deserved alone time.
