Kathie Lee Gifford Says She ‘Couldn’t Be Happier’ Her Son Cody Is Engaged

So many great things are happening for Kathie Lee Gifford! After recently leaving the Today show to pursue more opportunities in life, she revealed on Instagram on Sunday, May 12, that her son Cody, 29, got engaged to his girlfriend, Erika Brown, 27.

“My son is engaged and I couldn’t be happier for him and @missamerikabrown!!!” the TV personality wrote on Instagram next to a photo of Cody and Erika. “This is the best!” Kathie Lee’s friend and Today replacement, Jenna Bush Hager, wrote in the comments.

Kathie Lee’s daughter, Cassidy, also took to Instagram to give her brother a sweet shout-out. “So excited for what God has in store for these two,” she wrote. “The most excited to welcome my already sister @missamerikabrown into the craziness ❤️.”

One follower even said Kathie Lee’s late husband, Frank Gifford, would be so proud of Cody. “This is the absolute best ??Congratulations to the future couple and the future mother of the groom ❤️Your Frank must be smiling in heaven,” the fan commented. 

Even though Cody and Erika aren’t married as yet, they might as well be because Kathie Lee, 65, is so ready to welcome her son’s fiancée into the family! While previously speaking to to AARP The Magazine, Kathie Lee explained how Frank’s death made her feel very lonely.

“If you’re not careful, what you’ve lost in life can define you. It’s so much healthier to be defined by what you still have,” she said. Now that Cody is getting married and Kathie Lee is free to pursue her many passions in life, there is a lot to look forward to. “I’m making big changes in my life because I need to, really big changes that are feeding my soul,” the mom-of-two explained. “Otherwise, despair sets in and loneliness can be crippling.”
