Hoda Kotb Shares Photo From Kathie Lee Gifford’s Retirement Lunch: ‘We Will Miss You’

Now that we are in the middle of Kathie Lee Gifford‘s final week at Today, we can expect her to get quite the sendoff — especially on her last day, Friday, April 5. That said, the goodbyes and celebrations have already started.

Hoda Kotb — who has been the 65-year-old’s deskmate for the last 11 years — took to Instagram on Wednesday, April 3, to share quite the photo of what looks like the Live With Regis and Kathie alum’s retirement lunch. “Cheers klg. Xoxox beautiful lunch … oh how we will miss you,” the 54-year-old captioned the picture. Take a look at the lovely post below!

A few other Today faces made an appearance at the lunch, including Jenna Bush Hager — Kathie Lee’s replacement — and Jill Martin. Everyone of course is loving the photo and many folks rushed to the comments section to respond.

“This show will not be the same without Kathie Lee!!! I’ve been watching her since the beginning of Regis [Philbin] and Kathie lee!!! I will miss her and can’t wait to see what God has called her to do next!!!” one person said. Another added, “So great to see some of the most amazing and inspirational ladies in the same room!! Best wishes Kathie Lee.” A third fan chimed in with, “I will miss KLG  but I’m so happy and proud of her for being so genuine wishing her success in her new endeavors.”

The TV personality has received many kind words for the last couple of months since she announced her departure — including one from BFF Hoda.

“I feel like every good thing in my life happened after she and I met,” Hoda said of Kathie Lee on the February 20 episode of The Tonight Show. “I got to go speak at some event — because I worked with Kath, they asked me to speak — and I happened to have met my boyfriend [Joel Schiffman] there, who I’m with today. Because I met my boyfriend, we adopted [my daughter] Haley. I was just saying, it’s bizarre to think that one thing happens [and it’s a domino effect]. I said to Kath, ‘I feel like that happened with me.’ I got to live all these cool dreams after meeting her. It’s pretty cool.”
