Love and marriage go together like a … um … spinoff? Well Katey Sagal is certainly opened to the idea of bringing back the classic show Married With Children.

“I would consider it,” the 65-year-old, who played Peggy Bundy on the Fox program, told Us Weekly at the Shameless FYC event in Hollywood on Wednesday, March 6, of a possible spinoff. “We always talk about it. All of us do!” Now that the sitcom has been off the air for 22 years now, the actors have gone their different routes, and Katey sees that as one obstacle.

“Schedules never work out,” she said. “And what it would look like? Probably not too different than it looked like before. Just older. Just older people.” One aspect of the show that always caused controversy throughout its run was all the misogynistic jokes that would pop-up, and the 8 Simple Rules alum had this to say about dealing with that if the comedy were to be brought back.

“Our whole thing on that show was, I don’t believe in censorship. I believe that each individual is responsible for [themselves] — you can change the channel — if your children are watching something like that.” She added, “But I don’t necessarily think that … we would censor art in anyway.”

Married with Children ran from 1987 to 1997 and starred Katey as Ed O’Neill‘s onscreen wife, as well as Christina Applegate (Kelly Bundy) and David Faustino (Bud Bundy), who played the pair’s kids.

These days plenty of classic shows from yesteryear are coming back — Will & Grace has been on the air for a while, as has Roseanne (now titled The Conners). Most recently we learned about two other programs that might be making their way back to the small screen: Frasier and Beverly Hills, 90210, the latter that, according to Tori Spelling, will have the original stars play “heightened versions of ourselves,” she said on Access Live on February 1. “The fans will be pleasantly surprised, though, because we will intercut that with scenes from the show. So it’ll be a whole ensemble cast.”

We can’t wait to see with other classic shows are coming down the pipeline.
