Kate Winslet Teases an On-Screen Reunion With BFF Leonardo DiCaprio: “It Might Not Happen Until We’re 70!”

She’ll never let go!

Kate Winslet opened up in a new interview about the possibility of reuniting onscreen with her Titanic co-star Leonardo DiCaprio. While nothing is currently in the works, the 41-year-old actress is hoping to make it happen at some point in her life.

“At the moment, no, there’s nothing that Leo and I have planned,” Kate recently told E! News. “As always I would love to work with him again one day. But who knows? It might not happen until we’re 70.”

The UK native — who last worked with Leo, 42, on the 2008 movie Revolutionary Road — told the outlet that she thinks collaborating with the Oscar-winning actor again “would be quite sweet really, if you think about it.”

During the interview, Kate — who plays a woman forced to brave the icy climate of a snow-covered mountain after surviving a plane crash in her new film The Mountain Between Us — was asked if her latest role reminded her at all of filming Titanic.

“This was much harder than Titanic because we really were at 10,000 feet and it really was [negative 36 degrees],” she explained. “I definitely had Titanic flashbacks. How could I not? Freezing cold. Me falling into that cold water… It was definitely reminiscent of certain other rather challenging, strenuous experiences I had 20 years ago.”

Naturally, Kate turned to Leo for advice on how to survive long days of filming in extremely cold temperatures. After all, the environmental activist endured some rough conditions while playing frontiersman Hugh Glass in 2016’s The Revenant.

“[Leonardo and I] did speak before filming and he did sort of say to me, ‘Oh my god, you are crazy? It’s going to be freezing cold. Do you honestly know what you are sending yourself up for?'” she recounted. “I would send him little photos of me saying, ‘Thinking of you,’ as I am lying in the freezing snow covered ice and he would just send back slightly worried emojis.”

The Mountain Between Us hits theaters on Friday, October 6.
