Fans around the world were thrilled to learn on Monday, Sept. 4, that Kate Middleton and Prince William are expecting again. And now, In Touch reports that the royal couple’s third child will be a girl!

“This has been Kate’s dream,” a source told the mag. “She’s always wanted two girls and a boy, just like her mother had.” The 35-year-old is an older sister to Pippa Middleton, 33, and James Middleton, 30. And she’s already mom to Prince George, 4, and Princess Charlotte, 2.

The source added, “It has always been the plan to have another child. Charlotte has such a sweet and easy temperament; both [William] and Kate have wanted another daughter like her. Plus, William loves the idea of him and George being outnumbered by women in the family!”

Unfortunately, the foursome hasn’t had much time to celebrate. Like with her first two pregnancies, the brunette beauty is suffering from hyperemesis gravidarum, or severe morning sickness. Kensington Palace elected to announce her baby news early after she was forced to cancel a public appearance.

“Her Royal Highness will no longer carry out her planned engagement at the Hornsey Road Children’s Centre in London today. The Duchess is being cared for at Kensington Palace,” an official statement read. The source added, “She is suffering very badly. She won’t be able to attend as many official royal functions while she’s still in her first trimester.”

According to Life & Style, Kate consulted Queen Elizabeth about her desire for more children. “Kate has talked to the queen about her motherhood plans, and she has been incredibly supportive,” a close friend of the Duchess revealed. “Her Majesty is just delighted that Kate has turned out to be such a star for the royal family. After all the scandals of the past, the queen is glad Kate has brought stability to the family.”
