No, you’re not experiencing déjà vu — Kate Middleton really does wear the same designer each time she steps out of the Lindo Wing of London’s St. Mary’s Hospital with a new baby. When she introduced newborn Prince George to the world in 2013, she wore a blue Jenny Packham dress with white polka dots, likely a tribute to the dress her late mother-in-law Princess Diana wore when she introduced Prince William in 1982.

When Kate debuted Princess Charlotte in 2015, she donned a white Jenny Packham dress printed with yellow flowers. And when she showed off her latest child on Monday, April 23, she rocked a red Jenny Packham dress with a white lace Peter Pan collar in another probable nod to Diana. So why does the Duchess keep returning to the same designer for all her hospital dresses?

It’s all about form and function, apparently. There’s no denying these Jenny Packham dresses are all très chic, of course. But as People recently noted, they also feature relaxed silhouettes and forgiving fabrics, making them ideal for a duchess who might want to flatter her post-baby body. (And inevitably, the adoring public is always eager to know how to copy Kate’s look!)

That said, Kate doesn’t wear Jenny Packham only after childbirth. She also wears the 53-year-old Brit’s designs at her royal engagements. She wore Jenny Packham at her first state banquet, for example; as well as at various film premieres, at this year’s BAFTA Awards, at an Olympic concert, and on her royal tour of India. She has even worn the same forest-green Jenny Packham gown on three different occasions!

Jenny has a big fan in Kate — and in other VIPs. The designer’s work has also been spotted on Adele, Angelina Jolie, Cameron Diaz, Reese Witherspoon, Kate Winslet, and the one and only Oprah. Plus, Jenny has designed costumes for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Die Another Day, Casino Royale, and Sex and the City. Even so, we don’t think Prince William’s beloved has gone Hollywood — she just wants be one stylish mama!
