It’s rough being a mom, especially to a newborn, and Kate Hudson recently discussed some of the things she’s been going through since her baby girl, Rani Rose, arrived, and let’s just say that she’s been keeping busy.

On Thursday, February 28, the 39-year-old and her boyfriend, Danny Fujikawa, attended The Women’s Cancer Research Fund’s an Unforgettable Evening Benefit Gala, where the pair revealed that they most likely won’t be going out much after the event, mainly due to how tired they are from their 4-month-old daughter.  “I was the one that was like, ‘We might go out after this,’ and he’s like, ‘I’m already tired, babe,'” the actress said.

“We have a newborn at home. That takes a lot of the energy,” Danny, 32, explained, adding that his girlfriend may have a plan to prolong the evening. “She’s gonna pump on the way to this bar, apparently,” he joked.

“I just pump. That’s all I do,” the Almost Famous star added. “I pump, I come to nights like this every once in a while, and then I pump again.”

Jokes aside, Kate is clearly crazy about her baby, as this is the first girl she’s given birth to — she is already a mother to sons Ryder, 15, and Bingham, 7, both from separate relationships. Kate once recalled how hectic it was giving birth to Rani.

“There were so many people in and out and I was feeling left out of the social aspect of it, so I looked at the nurse and said, ‘I think I want the epidural because I’m too social for natural childbirth,’” she said on the Ellen DeGeneres Show. In fact, things got very personal when her mother, Goldie Hawn, tried to sneak in a look.

“The doctor was amazing, but mom, once again, man, she was right in there,” the Bride Wars costar said. “I remember the doctor goes, ‘Goldie, you get a little closer you might fall in.’” Kurt Russell‘s partner replied, “I took my cue, I didn’t get much closer.”
